How to Hack in Counter-Strike: Source
WITHOUT ACTUALLY HACKING.
Sorry to mislead you, but the object of this article is to hopefully stray at least one person from downloading an aim-bot, wall hacks, or some other terrible program. I understand the urge to hack. You’ve been playing CS for a little while, and you aren’t getting any good. People are dominating you, and you are most likely getting heckled by higher skilled players. You are either convinced that THEY are hacking (which they probably aren’t) or that you aren’t ever going to get good enough to be better than these people. You are wrong on both accounts! You just need to learn tricks that make other appear to be hacking, when they are just utilizing methods that all the pro CS players use, to dominate their opponents.
Use Sound - Wear Headphones
Using sound is best and easiest way to get better and really look like a hacker. Invest in some headphones, even cheap ones from Walmart will suffice. Learn to distinguish where a person is coming from by listening for footsteps. Obviously, if you hear footsteps in your left headphone, then they’ll be coming from your left. In your right headphone, then they’re coming from your right and middle of the road means in front of you, or behind. People make noise: unsheathing their knife, reloading their gun, throwing grenades, etc. Use this to your advantage. If you were just exchanging fire with someone, and hear them reload, then CHARGE THEM! They’ll have no defense, other than to take lead to the chin. If you hear a knife unsheathe, then there might be someone behind you about to inject steal into your back. Utilize walking to cover your own sound, and enable you to better hear your enemy.
Remember
People like to yap in CS, so if this is distracting, and it usually is while trying to use sound, use the console command: voice_enable 0. Your ears will thank you.
Use the Mini-Map
Utilization of the mini-map is essential, because anytime your team sees an opponent, it shows a circular blip on the mini-map of the there location. If one of your teammates die, it shows an X of the corresponding color, so you know where he was, and the likely placement of your opponent. The mini-map helps you place where the other team is, it also helps you place where you should go, and where your nades should go. This is a great tactic for knowing where to HE, Flash, or Smoke at key positions. People tend to look like hackers with the mini-map because one of their teammates will die, and they’ll immediately turn around or completely change their direction. Making it appear that they have walls, or some other program.
Aim for the Head
Getting repeated head shots is the stereotypical hackers move. How to accomplish this is… Always aim for the head! That’s it! Yes, it will take some practice, but once you get it down, you’ll realize how much better of a player you can be because of this. Guns like the AK, M4A1, and MP5, are guns that are usually quite easy to make head shots in succession. Learn the intricacies of each gun, and you’ll be on your way to more head shots in no time!
Practice Tips
A good de_dust 2 Deathmatch server can be your best friend. You can pack a lot of CS in a small amount of time, and learn different guns without having to wait constantly for the round to be over. Use Deathmatch for learning to aim, and nothing more. Sound is next to useless, as there’s a hundred guns going off all the time, and it can also make you over aggressive. Resist the urge to resort to Deathmatch tactics in an actual pub game.
Conclusion
The tips here are very few, but this is basically all people are doing in game. If you are able to master these abilities, then you’ll be getting banned from servers in no time. As annoying as that is, it’s a little satisfying knowing you are good enough to play without hacks, and be accused by people who just know no better. Hacking ruins the game for others, I understand why people do it, but it doesn’t make it a good thing. Try to figure out the game, before you resort to downloading skills.
