Useful CS:S Console Commands
Console commands come in various weird shapes, and odd sizes. They can be, however, very useful. Here’s a list of selected commands, that can help you play better.
Pressing the ~ button (located below the Escape key), will open up the console. If this doesn’t work, then you need to enable it, and should probably read the following article: Setting Up Your Counter-Strike: Source Options.
General
connect (IP Address)
Very simply, enables you to connect to a server via IP. For all those times when Steam’s Favorites menu is malfunctioning.
exit
Closes Counter-Strike: Source.
Gameplay
cl_minmodels 1 (0 disables)
Uses one player model for each team, making it easier to differentiate friend from foe.
kill
Frags yourself. Useful if you are about to get knifed and don’t want to suffer the humiliation, or if you are stuck.
voice_enable (0 - 1)
If your ears are bleeding from too much chatter, this command saves the day. Disables all voice chat.
Lag Reducers and Monitors
net_graph (0 - 3)
Adds different views of fp, in, out, loss, ping, choke, etc. Locates at the bottom of your screen, good to learn if you are receiving a lot of choke or loss, which causes lag, and bad shot registration.

net_graphpos (0 - 2)
Positions the graph: left (0), center (1), right (2).
cl_updaterate
Number of packets per second of updates you are requesting from the server. Default: 20
Recommended: 60+ (Play around with it.)
cl_cmdrate
Max number of command packets sent to server per second. Default: 0
Recommended: 80 (Play around with it.)
fps_max
Frame rate limiter.
Recommended: 100
